CONSULTING ROLES
AmPhil’s Consulting Divisions provide a range of integrated professional services that help our clients raise more money and advance their missions. Our consultants work directly with clients and lead a variety of projects that include strategic planning, major gifts support, direct mail and digital fundraising, foundation program management, planned giving advising, donor database implementation, and more.
Each staff member is assigned to a specific consulting group so they have a chance to work closely with other group members and build strong relationships. Some groups focus on serving specific geographic regions while others provide expertise in specific service areas such as direct response.

- Analyst – AmPhil’s entry-level consulting role where you’ll learn the fundamentals of fundraising and project management and provide project execution support to other group members.
- Associate – Junior-level role where you continue to master the principles of fundraising and project management, while taking on more responsibility for specific client projects.
- Senior Associate – Mid-level, permanent role with a dedicated focus on project management and execution support.
- Consultant – Mid-level role where you take on increased oversight of projects, provide quality control, and begin to lead client engagements.
- Senior Consultant – Mid-level role where you lead a growing number of client engagements, provide project management for senior leaders and complex projects, and help mentor and train staff.
- Managing Consultant – Senior-level role where you lead client engagements, represent the firm at conferences and trainings, support business development, and help mentor and train staff.
- Associate Director – Senior-level role where you manage some group members and provide operations support to your consulting group while remaining active in leading client engagements and supporting business development.
- Director – Senior-level role where you lead a consulting group. This role includes managing staff, overseeing group budget and operations, leading high-level client engagements, and actively contributing to business development.
- Senior Director – Executive-level role where you oversee multiple consulting groups, lead company working groups and initiatives, support Division decision-making, train rising leaders, drive business development, and lead high-level client engagements.
INTERNAL SUPPORT ROLES
AmPhil’s Internal Divisions provide operational support to the company itself. Internal Divisions include Operations, which manages AmPhil’s finance, legal, systems, and data needs; Growth, which supports AmPhil’s sales and marketing activities; and Talent and Culture, which oversees AmPhil’s hiring, professional development, and employee engagement.

- Coordinator/Specialist – AmPhil’s entry-level internal role where you’ll provide general project support and execution for your group.
- Manager – A mid-level role where you have more specialized knowledge and can execute projects independently.
- Senior Manager – A mid-level role where you manage and execute high-level projects independently and may begin to help mentor junior staff.
- Director – Senior-level role where you own a particular area or activity, drive strategy, and manage complex projects with excellence. Depending on the size of your Division or group, you may also serve as a group lead and manage staff.
- Senior Director – Executive-level role where you oversee multiple areas or groups, lead company working groups and initiatives, train staff, support Division decision-making, and manage staff.
