David Lopez

Managing Director, Diocesan Campaigns

As Managing Director of Diocesan Campaigns, David is responsible for building, scaling and managing AmPhil’s efforts in Diocesan Campaigns.

He has consulted since 2019 and served a number of Catholic dioceses across the country, including the Diocese of Helena in Montana, where he helped raise $94 million—including $48 million in legacy gifts—and engaged 33 percent of households in the diocese, well above the typical range of 18-to-25 percent in national archdiocesan efforts.

Prior to consulting, David spent 14 years as Director of Parish Life at Holy Trinity Parish in Sacramento, CA. In this role, David was responsible for every aspect of parish operations, from ministries and faith formation to stewardship.

Before coming to Holy Trinity, David served as chief-of-staff to one of the top-ranking leaders in the California State Legislature and then in the U.S. House of Representatives. During this time, he also was a partner in a political strategy and fundraising firm for local and national candidates.

David earned a double major in communication and political science from Stanford University. He and his wife Kathy enjoy traveling and have a special heart for mission work in Haiti.
