Special Leisure Services Foundation
Case Study
Developing a detailed, step by step
roadmap to fundraising success.
Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF) raises money to provide disabled children and adults with opportunities for sports and recreational activities.
In 2016, SLSF realized the need to strengthen its development program, as it had long relied too heavily on revenue from annual community events. Faced with a growing program budget, SLSF reached out to American Philanthropic for help putting together a three-year strategic development plan that would guide it through the steps necessary to diversify its fundraising portfolio and match its needs.
In the development planning process, American Philanthropic first analyzed SLSF’s development activities and donor messaging in comparison to similarly sized nonprofits. The final plan provided SLSF with the tools necessary to build sustained major gifts and foundation solicitation programs, while improving performance in other areas of fundraising.
Thanks to American Philanthropic’s work, SLSF was able to put together a detailed, step by step roadmap to equip it for fundraising success.
American Philanthropic is registered as “fundraising counsel,” “fundraising consultants,” or other similar designations in all states requiring this kind of registration. We did not act as a “professional fundraiser” in the case cited above, meaning, among other things, that we did not at any time solicit funds, assets, or property on our client’s behalf.
