Chivaun Wolter is a Senior Managing Consultant at AmPhil, where she provides clients with strategic direction to help execute complex fundraising plans, particularly in major gifts and foundations. Since joining AmPhil in 2022, she has supported over thirty nonprofit clients—specializing in the policy space—and has assisted them in raising over $100 million annually.

A strategic thought partner with deep practical expertise, Chivaun uses her frontline fundraising experience to deliver actionable, results-oriented guidance. Before joining AmPhil, she held leadership positions spanning foundations, major gifts, and operations at nonprofits in the education and policy sectors, including Americans for Prosperity.

Chivaun’s Story

Chivaun’s experience as a Director of Development, Major Gifts Officer, and Foundation Director gives her unique insight into the day-to-day realities facing nonprofit leaders. Beginning her career in political fundraising before moving to the nonprofit sector, she developed a comprehensive understanding of donor psychology and fundraising strategy that now informs her consulting approach. Over fifteen years, she has built and scaled development programs, secured six- and seven-figure gifts, and helped organizations strengthen their infrastructure to support sustainable growth.

Her particular expertise lies in helping nonprofit organizations build sophisticated major gifts programs and foundation strategies that align with their missions and values. Chivaun excels at translating complex work into compelling donor narratives and helping organizations cultivate long-term philanthropic partnerships.

A northwest native and graduate of the University of Washington, where she studied political science, Chivaun resides in the Seattle area with her husband. A passionate defender of life, she serves on the board of the Center for Client Safety, an affiliate of Americans United for Life. Chivaun is an avid traveler and has visited all 50 states. She brings that same spirit of curiosity and exploration to her work with clients across the country.
